Settle Railway

Some free time in the beautiful town of Kendal, which boasts indulgent shopping, historic buildings and museums. Then to the historic town of Settle where you join the train to enjoy a beautiful journey to Carlisle. Built in the nineteenth-century, the line follows natural pathways and crosses the Batty Moss on the twenty-four arches of the spectacular Ribblehead Viaduct, the line’s most famous, man-made feature.

Lake District

Travel into the beautiful Lake District to the bustling, pretty town of Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria’s most popular destination, the Victorian village of Ambleside and the village of Grasmere, famous for its Wordsworth connections.

Devil's Porridge

Before returning home, we have included admission to the Devil’s Porridge Museum, a 5-star attraction, where you can learn the story of the greatest factory on earth. Explore the remarkable history of the UK’s largest, secret, wartime factory during World War I.
