Pentland Hotel, Thurso (3 nights)
Located in the heart of Thurso, this refurbished hotel offers comfortable accommodation and a warm welcome. Their restaurant uses only the freshest local Caithness seafood and produce. (no lift)
Day One
Travel to Pitlochry and the Fishers Hotel for your overnight stay. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
Day Two
Head North through glorious scenery to Thurso and the Pentland Hotel, your base for three nights.
Day Three
Embark on a guided tour of the enchanting Orkney Islands, where you'll discover iconic World Heritage sites such as the Standing Stones of Stenness, the Ring of Brodgar, and the historic Scapa Flow. Explore the Churchill Barriers and the stunning Italian Chapel, and enjoy some free time to wander around Kirkwall, the island's charming capital.
Day Four
Start the day with a visit to the Castle of Mey, a historic and remote castle, once the Queen Mother's summer residence and the most northerly inhabited castle in Scotland. The views from here are simply stunning. Drive further along the north coast to John o' Groats and enjoy its location with jaw-dropping scenery, perhaps get a photo at the iconic sign post. On to the former Viking settlement of Wick with the remainder of the day in Thurso.
Day Five
Relax and enjoy the scenery as you travel back through Scotland and a visit to the magnificent Dunrobin Castle and Gardens en-route to the overnight hotel in Aberfoyle.
Day Six
After breakfast you leave Aberfoyle and travel home. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
