Castlecourt Hotel, Westport
The Castlecourt Hotel is a family run hotel located in the heart of Westport. It offers a 20-metre indoor pool, gym and spa and beautifully decorated rooms. The Orchard Restaurant offers a bright and stylish space, whilst the Courtyard Bistro provides light lunches and pastries throughout the day.(Lift)
Day One
Depart from your selected joining point and travel to the Castlecourt Hotel, Westport. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
Day Two
Embark on a scenic tour through the Connemara National Park, where you'll be treated to breathtaking views as you journey through the dramatic Doo Lough Valley to the village of Leenane. Nestled between towering mountain ranges and set along the shores of Ireland's only fjord, Leenane boasts some of the most spectacular scenery in the country. The tour continues with a visit to the enchanting Kylemore Abbey, a serene haven steeped in history, where a Benedictine order of nuns has resided for over a century amidst its peaceful surroundings.
Day Three
Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the charming village of Cong on an award-winning walking tour of filming locations from The Quiet Man, led by an expert guide and captivating storyteller. A must-see for fans of the classic film, this tour brings the movie's magic to life. Afterwards, head to the vibrant city of Galway, where you'll have free time to explore at your own pace. Wander through the city's medieval streets, admire the colourful shopfronts, and soak up the rich culture and lively atmosphere of this thriving Irish hub.
Day Four
Begin the day with a visit to the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life, where Victorian and Contemporary architecture combine. Immerse yourself in the modern exhibition galleries that explore Ireland's rural past and an almost vanished but recent way of life; and take a stroll through the award-winning Victorian gardens. The afternoon is free to explore the Georgian town of Westport.
Day Five
After breakfast you leave Westport to start the journey home. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
